Haunted Mansion is a dark ride where guests are taken into a haunted mansion and guided by a disembodied voice, called the ghost host, to find a way out (https://disneyland.disney.go.com/attractions/disneyland/haunted-mansion/). Guests are then taken into the stretching room, and a large elevator takes guests to take lower level for the attraction. Then guests are moved around the mansion and the grounds on a Doom Buggy, an Omni mover system that constantly moves guests in a dark ride setting. It opened in August of 1969.
In 2001, Disneyland opened the Haunted Mansion Holiday overlay, a retelling of the 1993 movie, The Nightmare Before Christmas (https://www.yesterland.com/hauntedholiday.html). Jack Skellington and the residents of Halloween Town take over the mansion with their version of Christmas and Sandy Claws. The overlay is quite popular and has been done every year at the Disneyland location, and Tokyo Disneyland in 2003. The conversion takes place in August and opened in September in time for the Halloween decorations and activities, and stays up until January since the attraction has both Halloween & Christmas elements that make the overlay prevalent for a third of the year.
My last two Disneyland POV videos were filmed on my GoPro Black 8, however, due to the dark setting of Haunted Mansion, I had to my iPhone 11 Pro Max since you can’t adjust the brightness of the GoPro, but I could with my iPhone. However, I had to consistently adjust the brightness during filming.
