Most hotel-provided shops sell items at a markup as it is right there, which is convenient for guests since the guests don’t have to leave the hotel to get the items. Items sold are usually individual, not in bulk or multipack. However, I have a really bad cold sore, so I need to go elsewhere to get cold sore medicine as it is too expensive for hotel gift shops to have on hand. For both, let’s go outside for both options.
Ugh, I had a bad cold sore at the corner of my mouth, the hotel gift shop at the hotel, does not have any cold sore treatments, so I had to look elsewhere in the resort area. About a half-mile walk from the hotel is CVS at Harbor & Katella, not only hosting pharmacy and medicine but also drinks of hard & soft variety, candy, snacks, SoCal branded merchandise, and even award trophies for best (insert relation to a person). If a guest needs an essential item that the gift shop does not have, it could be here, just make sure to check the website to see if the item is in stock.
For my cold sore, they have Abreva, however, it can be hit or miss sometimes. One of the more well-received solutions was Burt’s Bee using rhubarb & sage, which is working well to reduce cold sores. It was $14 and it works! However, be aware that the discount on their website is for online pickup or shipping to your house, which was not clarified until I asked the cashier. It would have been $3 off if I did pick it up, oh well, lesson learned.
This CVS is part of the ground floor retail along with the Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf of the longer stay brand of Marriott, SpringHill Suites Anaheim Convention Center with 174 units. Each unit has a wet bar with utensils, a coffee maker, a mini fridge, a microwave, a living room with a separate sleeper sofa, a hot breakfast, and lobby coffee throughout the day.
