The Venetian Theater was on the lower level next to the casino. My parents in their early 60s & late 50s, and my sister & I in our late 20s, got lined up to get into the concert, with the majority of the fans being our parents’ age. We were mid-orchestra level on the first deck, then the mezzanine on the second deck, and then the balcony on the third deck.
For fun, I wanted to see how many times Foreigner has to play at the Venetian Theater to get the same amount of fans at other theaters, amphitheaters, arenas, and stadiums. For theaters, a smaller capacity of 1850 fans, makes for a more intimate experience with the band, much easier to see and film clips of the concerts.

The concert started at 8:15 am with “Double Vision”, after that, they pretty much played all of their hits. In between songs, lead singer, Kelly Hansen, informed fans about their two-week, six-show residency. During their residency, they are on the road for their tour, since no other artist will be playing, the roadies just set up the lighting, sound, and video equipment once and give the setup crew rest during then. Otherwise, on the road on consecutive nights, they would break down equipment and get ahead of the band for the next venue. The sound & video crews just do their thing during the concert nights. On off nights, they do whatever in Las Vegas, do band rehearsals, work out, etc. One thing that they don’t normally do but can do with the residency is to be two of the former band members playing the last few songs.
The song “I Want to Know What Love Is” has backup vocals by a local school choir participating in and raising awareness for funding needed for arts & music programs at public schools.
Another time, Kelley Hansen introduced the band, most of them are about the age of the crowd, like my parents, late 50s to 60s, who were teenagers when Foreigner released their first single “Feels Like the First Time” in 1977. Many band members came and went over the year, but the last original member, Mick Jones, 78 years old, is still playing. Since the Foreigner has been playing since 1977, for 46 years, Mick Jones and company are retiring after their farewell tour in 2024.
Foreigner posted on their Facebook page that they were inducted into the Rock n’ Roll Hall of Fame. Unfortunately, it was an April Fool’s joke, even though they already have a huge catalog of hits, they should be considered for next year. The screenshots are below.

At 10:07 pm, after just about two hours of playing their hits and long solos, the concert was over. It was fun to see them and be a theater instead of a huge amphitheater, arena, or stadium. A theater was a much more intimate experience, not waiting for them with the openers & the setup time, it was Foreigner & their hits that our parents loved & played a billion times in the car on road trips growing up that made my sister & I love their music.
Wanting to recreate the experience of the show, my mom made a Spotify playlist of the show’s set list so you can imagine where you were at the concert too.
