The video version of the blog post.

Happy 4th of July weekend! Let’s celebrate American independence by going to an American original, Disneyland! It’s time for your July 2023 Disneyland Resort update! Also, July 1st is Canada Day for our neighbors to the north!

As it is the 4th of July weekend, expect a large number of guests with it being summer & the holiday weekend. Expect temperatures to be in the 88 F/31 C with humidity this weekend through July. Make sure to drink plenty of water with a reusable water bottle and refill at water stations throughout the resort. Along with breaks from the sun and going to indoor queue attractions for air conditioning

You can get plenty of A/C at the Hyperion Theater as they just opened their latest live show, Roger: the Musical, based on the five-minute scene from the Hawkeye mini-series. I happened to come by the parks on June 29th, which was their preview day. The queue for the theater is finally a proper queue area again since it was used for the Trick or Treating, and Shawarma dining area since the 2020 openings. They were also handing out themed popcorn buckets to the preview attendees as well, I was able to get a picture of the bucket, but not attend the previews.

Pacific Wharf is where you can rest & try to hide from the sun while eating a hot bowl of clam chowder, and observe the ever-changing area to become San Fransokyo Square from the Big Hero 6 series. According to Disney Parks Blog, in mid-July, Lucky Fortune Cookery will get a new menu and the brewery will open in lieu of the Karl Strauss beer cart. Later on, new shopping kiosks will open for Big Hero 6 merchandise, San Fransokyo Maker’s Market, and Hamada Bot Shop. Pacific Wharf Cafe will be renamed Aunt Cass Cafe, where Boudins will still bake and sell bread bowl soups, along with Japanese cuisine as well. Mural work has been recently completed on the outdoor murals of the cafe. Ghirardelli & Cocina Cucamonga will get new menu items as well. Rita Baja Blenders will be Rita’s Turbine Blenders as there will be a Koi fish wind turbine on top of the kiosk.

The simple blue box trestle bridge was reprinted Golden Gate Golden red, and now supporting bridge pylons are now being added to resemble the San Fransokyo version of the Golden Gate Bridge. Exterior mural work for the cafe facing the water is completed as well.

From here the majority of refurbishment is the building façade to get them repainted, such as the San Francisco Painted Lady Victorian homes, which house the Embarcadero Gifts for the Pandora Jewelry store at DCA.

Due to Splash Mountain being refurbished to Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, Grizzly River Run is the only water ride to cool you down on the upcoming hot summer days. Speaking of Tiana, the Bayou Adventure in Walt Disney World In Magic Kingdom got their water tower, while Disneyland won’t get it for a few months as progress progresses.

Tiana Palace looks like it is getting closer to completion by the day with logos on the side of the building, building façade rework, string lights, and work on the steeple.

The Adventureland tree house now has new plants and lighting fixtures that were just delivered.

In Fantasyland, building facades for Red Rose Tavern & Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride is getting worked on while open. While Peter Pan’s Flight is closed during the construction work. At least you can pin-trade there With a Cast Member.

At Mickey’s Toontown, the terf has bits of dust & crumbs get stuck in the grass, and getting walked on all day, every day by guests. This turf and grass in general are not really meant for this much continuous use from guests on a daily basis. It does not help that everyone wants to picnic on the grass by getting a picnic set from Good Boy Grocers.
