I worked at the front desk at select-service hotels, such as Holiday Inn Express, where we sell, restock, and inventory items at the grab-go market as part of our regular duties. When I got to see the catalog, it was filled with unhealthy items, especially energy bars, candy, ice cream, chips, cookies, and more. Many guests were buying them by the handful in their pajamas as their nighttime snack, which I am sure was not good for them and their sleep.
One of my first interviews at the Hospitality Show was with Sean Folkson, the founder of Nightfood, which aims to solve the unhealthy hotel grab & go snack crisis. Nightfood is a line of sleep-friendly & healthier cookies & ice creams formulated by sleep experts. Nightfood snacks contain less sugar, fat, and calories than their traditional counterparts, with more protein and prebiotic fiber…plus vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients that are understood to help with sleep quality.
Nightfood is a healthier alternative to traditional cookies & ice cream we naturally crave with the midnight munchies. Nightfood cookies contain 40% less sugar, 30% less fat, 3x the prebiotic fiber, and 4x the protein compared to traditional cookies. It contains tryptophan to help you sleep better as well! It is not cheap at $15 for a three-pack of cookies & $8 per pint. However, if you’re going to snack at night and want something delicious and sleep-friendly, you might want to give Nightfood a try. I even tried it myself and I had an amazing sleep after a long day at the Hospitality Show!
