Based on the 2001 CGI movie by Pixar and distributed by Walt Disney Studios, Monsters Inc., Monster’s Inc: Mike & Sully to the Rescue is a dark ride retelling of the movie as you are whisked away in Monstroplus Taxi Cabs through the story. A human little girl, dubbed Boo by Mike & Sully was accidentally let loose from her door portal monsters scare kids to produce electricity, into the monster world. The chase is on to get Boo back to Monsters Inc. with Mike & Sully while trying to get away from Randell & the Child Detection Agency (CDA). At the end of the attraction, Roz, one of Monsters Inc. characters Roz, makes a comment to guests in the taxi, in my case, was filmed with another camera & to get her good side, and I had nice glasses, as she wore them too.
The attraction opened in 2006, in the place of the former Superstar Limo ride. The original limos & video screens for Superstar Limo have reused taxi cabs and video to set the exposition of the attraction. The facade of the attraction was reused as well from a busy painted scene of Los Angeles to the current Monsters Inc. artwork. However, during the fall of 2022, there was newer artwork painted on as the characters addon too much detail.
