This year, I got to be a press member of the Hospitality Show for their inaugural year for the show, it was formed in collaboration with Hotel Management magazine by Questix & Lodging Magazine by the American Hotel & Lodging Association. I got the chance to interview companies exhibiting on the exhibit hall floor. I would interview one of the representatives or executives at the show for that company, and write a blog press release and/or YouTube video about the company. For more context for the show, check out my previous show post here.

I had the honor to talk with Mike Hirschler, the Chief People Officer for the StayPineapple hotel brand.

Want a unique boutique luxury lifestyle brand that exceeds guests’ expectations & caters to their dogs too? Welcome to StayPineapple, they opened their first location in Seattle twelve years ago to create a unique hospitality experience.

Being a newer hotel brand, StayPineapple listens to feedback from guests & staff to help improve the experience for everyone. They create value for the guest with their large duvets, big robes & towels, afternoon coffee & treats, and everything in pineapple yellow or more like gold on their lendable bikes, coffee mugs, and more!

They currently own & operate hotels in seven cities in the United States with a total of ten hotels in the last twelve years, which they own & operate all current properties. They are looking to franchise the brand and do management contracts for hotels in destinations around the country. They currently own & operate four hotels in Seattle, with the rest of one each in Portland, San Francisco, San Diego, Chicago, New York City, and Boston.

Their bedding is luxurious & consistent with the whole brand, called the Naked Experience, with a large dual duvets system that is so comfortable, you won’t mind wearing a pajama shirt and shorts to bed so it is not coarse on your skin like other brands. They double-blinded tested the bedding to be the best bedding, along with being tested by their leadership. The package is a Simmons Beauty Rest mattress, a double duvet system so each person doesn’t have to fight for the duvet at night, and plush terry cloth robes & towels. You can also buy it on their store website

Their mascot is Dash, the husky, which has a plush in each room, which you can take one home for $25, and profits go to local animal shelters of the hotel’s location. Dash was inspired by their proximity to the University of Washington, with their mascot being a husky, which my cousin recently graduated from back in June, with my aunt & uncle who stayed at their University Inn location to be close to campus for all the graduations. Speaking of dogs, they are obsessed with dogs, as each registered dog gets their own dog bed and name on the welcome chalkboard for a nightly fee.

One response to “StayPineapple at the Hospitality Show”

  1. […] a press list so exhibitors can hawk press for coverage. I completed several articles for the Hospitality Show and it made me not want to go to industry conferences unless it is a few hundred miles at most from […]
